What makes a great story? // A discussion with Ken Burns

I watch a lot of short films, documentaries and movies and I'm constantly in a search for the keys to telling a good story. Yesterday, I stumbled upon this short documentary interviewing a great documentary director Ken Burns(http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0122741/). His explanation derives from his constant life long quest to waking the dead and telling their stories through his documentaries. It's very compelling, interesting and personal, one of my favorite to date.

The Ball Game

Yesterday, I went out to watch and photograph the men's baseball team play their final playoff game of the season. They had a phenomenal season and played a great game against the College of Idaho.

For better or worse; An incredible marriage

Holding back tears at work is no easy task, and although I didn't succeed at that, I had to share this story on my blog. I think this is an incredible story, incredible video and an even more amazing marriage.

A sneak peak for tomorrow's new film.

Tomorrow, APU will release a recap film of this year's 2012 commencement. My team and I, (Chaili, Johnny Andow and Andrew Koskela) had a blast and put a lot of work into filming both ceremonies. I'm really proud of it and hope that a lot of people are going to enjoy reliving the experience of graduating from APU. #iHeartAPU

So there was a flash mob at APU's graduation.

Last saturday I had the privilege of filming APU's spring commencement and I had a blast. The best part of the night was when they called the last students name, he walked across the stage and then a flash mob erupted. I barely had time to do anything so my team and I did the best we could. Here's to you Class of 2012, you rocked it!

Zac and Monica got married.

Our good friends Zac & Monica got married under the most beautiful willow tree this past weekend and it was awesome. I thought I'd share what we did for their wedding invitation.
